It is clear that the success of a blog hinges on traffic. More traffic equals greater success.

It is also clear that climbing Mt. Everest might be easier that getting gazillions of people to come read your blog. It is downright discouraging.

My philosophy is that perseverance will prevail. If you just hang in there the traffic will come.

“If you build it they will come.”  Is a blog really a Field of Dreams?

Anyway, let’s remember some of the keys to getting more traffic:

1. Post regularly. (Guilty of not sticking to this one!)
2. Ping everything!
3. Comment aggressively and informatively.
4. Share the love - link love, that is.
5. Read up on SEO. Getting your blog on the first search page is priceless.

Lastly, know that you are not alone. Darren at ProBlogger just completed a survey asking his readers how many visitors frequent their blogs. Out of 2,144 responders a very large 35% received 0-100 hits per day.

Ahhh, yes, misery does love company!
