Is “Quality Content” Holding You Back?

One of the mantras of successful bloggers is “quality content”, “quality content”, “quality content”.

But that can be intimidating. Subconsciously,  I think I don’t post when I feel that I have nothing worthwhile to say. But am I really the best judge of that? Should I just write about what is on my mind and let the magic of Google be the judge?

Courtney Tuttle just posted about an overnight success called bu.bulicio.us. The secret, Court theorizes, is that Vic at bu.bulicio.us posts about 154 times per week on average. This obviously increases Vic’s search engine traffic.

Honestly, I doubt my ability to provide 154 quality posts per week. But surely I have more than 154 novel ideas per week. If I wrote about each of these ideas there might be something of value there to a variety of people.

In fact, this post is a result of one of those random ideas.

Maybe frequent semi-quality posting is more valuable than less frequent, well thought out and researched posts.

I think that both high quality and medium quality are important. One gets your basic idea out there and the other takes that basic idea and expands it into a great article.
