Full or Partial Feeds? Let Your Readers Choose.

I hate partial feeds.
It is just too time consuming to click through to the actual site for every article that sounds interesting.
In fact, I am more likely to click through if the full feed is offered - because I often feel compelled to leave a comment once I have read the whole post.
Even if a post in a partial feed sounds interesting I will ignore it because I don’t want to bother with all that clicking.
So, today I read with delight (in a full feed) an article by Stephen Cronin at More Than Scratch the Surface. His plugin - DualFeeds v 1.1 -has been updated and released. This plugin allows the subscriber to choose which type of feed they would like, full or partial. And the subscriber also has the option to subscribe to comments as well.
Now you don’t have to leave those “partial feed haters” behind - let them choose.

I support only full feeds. Partial feeds are a perfect no-no according to me.

Maybe we should start a club - or blog: Full feeds only. Partial feeds are frustrating.

There was a discussion on feeds over at blogcatalog writer’s group that might interest you. The discussion is closed but you might like to see what others are saying…

Moonshadow,
Thanks for the insight. Feed scraping is a problem and is a “con” of offering full feeds. So a blogger must decide if if the “pro” of keeping your readers happy outweighs the “con” of having your feed scraped.
