Make money now – what are you waiting for?
This is a question that I often ask myself. I have a computer, I know how to build a blog – so get busy. Sometimes all I need is a good kick in the pants!
And I know that I am not the only one.
How many people out there procrastinate? Blogging is one of those things that is a magnet for procrastinators – really. Why? Because we want instantaneous results. We write a post, we wait, we check our stats, we wait, we see where our 2 visitors came from, how long they spent on our site, what they clicked on. And lo and behold – our day is over.
It doesn’t have to be that way. To make money now – online – has never been easier. That being said, it is very hard work to build up that income stream. And the rewards come much later. Sometimes I just want to give up. Why bother with all of this work when a regular paycheck in exchange for 8 to 10 hours of work per day is more reliable?
Well, here is a business that has low start up costs, that allows you to be your own boss, and that can be started in whatever spare time you have to give. What could be better than that? Everyone’s situation is different but I would say that a little extra cash would be beneficial to just about everyone!
So how does one go about achieving this income stream?
There are a few basic steps to follow:
- Pick a profitable topic. Not just any topic – a profitable topic. Something that people are searching for, but that has little competition. It also helps if it is a topic that you are genuinely interested in, know something about, or are willing to learn about. I will elaborate on this later.
- Find related keywords to your main topic. Make sure that these words are also profitable.
- Pick a domain name for this topic. Find something descriptive that is NOT cutsie. Again – will go into details later.
- Build a blog or a website around this topic. Feature lots of good content.
- Create backlinks to your content.
- Sign up for Adsense or a related affiliate program.
- Put your advertising up on your site.
- Monitor your traffic and create new pages to satisfy the terms people are searching for.
- Get more people to link to your site.
- Rinse and repeat.
As you can imagine – this process can consume just about every waking hour. That obstacle can put a stop to even the most ambitious amongst us. However – it is the tortoise that won the race. And to make money now – you need to start now. One site at a time. Get busy, get moving, get active. And most of all, don’t get discouraged. Not every site will be a winner. But once you create one then another – and start to experience how success feels – patterns will emerge and you will begin to learn the formula of what it is that makes a successful webmaster.
